Mount Vernon Foreign Language Cafe is an opportunity for the GW community to practice their language skills through this free language conversation. All cafes are held in Eckles Library. The Spring 2016 semester is as follows:

ASL, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese, English, Japanese, Persian for 1/25, 2/22, 3/28, 4/11 from 5:30-6:30pm

Korean on the same dates from 5:00-6:00pm


The English for Academic Purposes department will be offering a 6 week skills course called "Grammer for Academic Writing" for second-language international students who need to build this skill to support their academic coursework at GW. The course will be held from January 25 through March 4th.

The Language Center, in conjunction with the International Student Committee, is offering workshops to help GWU international students improve their conversational English Skills. Previous workshop topics have included "Introducing Yourself and Essential Slang," "Shopping, Dining, and Transportation in DC," "Dealing with Phone Calls—Friends and Business," "Talking about Your Health," "Working with your Peers," "Working with your Professors," "Business Communication," and "Holidays."

Future workshops dates, times, and locations will be posted on this website as well as sent by email. If you are interested in received future emails on Everyday English workshops and have not attend a workshop previously, please complete this form.
