Candace Sumner-Robinson is the Director of Undergraduate Advising for the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to her arrival to campus, Candace was the Assistant Dean of Diversity and International Students for the College of Arts and Science and the Director of the Academic Achievement Program at New York University. At NYU, she developed student programming and offered academic and social support for students across the university, ensuring inclusive spaces for international and underrepresented students of NYU. Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Candace has spent 15 years working for colleges and universities within the mid-Atlantic region. Prior to arriving at GWU, Candace was an Academic Advisor at New York University, The New School, George Washington University (Elliott School of International Affairs), and Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Candace is also a Ph.D. Candidate in the Sociology of Education program within the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. She enjoys theater (especially musical theater), listening to music (especially 90's R&B, 80's and 90's hip hop, pop and go-go), visiting museums and cool restaurants, traveling throughout the US and around the world (especially via train), and spending time with her family and friends.
