Sarah-Kay Hurst

Sarah-Kay Hurst is returning to teach CCAS 1001 (First Year Experience) for a fourth time. Her primary role at GW is as a French professor, and she enjoys teaching CCAS 1001 (in English!) to support students as they navigate university life and build a strong foundation for their college journey. She especially enjoys creating learning experiences that help students discover all GW has to offer. Originally from Colorado, she has lived in Washington, D.C. since 2018 and remains obsessed with the city’s many museums, from Planet Word to Smithsonian gems like the Renwick Gallery and the National Museum of African Art. She holds a Ph.D. in French Linguistics, focusing on teaching methods and enhancing the student experience. Before joining GW, she taught for two years in the English department at the University of Strasbourg in France. She is passionate about teaching and excited to work with first-year students again this fall!
