Debra Bright

Dr. Debra Bright has served as Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs at GW since June 2023. Prior to this role, she served as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Howard University, the Associate Dean for Student Affairs at Montgomery College, and Director of Admissions and Student Services at the GW Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD). Dr. Bright is a proud New Yorker, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University, a Master of Education degree from Harvard University, and a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from GW. Dr. Bright's hobbies include traveling, going to the theater, line dancing, listening to audiobooks, and fine dining with friends.
