Emily Steck

Emily joined the CCAS Academic Advising POD 3 team in August after working at Gelman Library from January-May of 2024. Prior to working at GW, Emily spent five years teaching 8th Grade English Language Arts in DC Public Schools. A Bristol, Connecticut native, Emily has lived and worked in Cape Town, South Africa, Brooklyn, NY and San Antonio, TX.

Emily has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Human Rights with a minor in Art History from the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!) and a Masters of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University. In her spare time, Emily loves to visit local art museums, attend book clubs with friends, and see the latest movie releases.
