Daphna Atias


Daphna Atias has worked as an educational developer at GW's Center for Teaching Excellence since 2020, which means that she supports college instructors with the teaching part of their roles. Her unit hosts workshops and events, consults with instructors about course design and teaching topics, and develops resources that promote student learning. Daphna grew up in Michigan, where she earned a BA in English and Political Science and an MA in English from the University of Michigan. She has taught 10th grade English and several college literature and writing courses. A resident of DC for over 10 years, Daphna lives in NW DC with her husband, kindergartner, and toddler. She can usually be found exploring museums, going on day trips, and chasing her kids around playgrounds, often with an iced coffee in hand.
